About me

IMG-20191020-WA0059-4final.jpg

In a gist, I try not to define myself and I am constantly evolving.

I work professionally as an illustrator, artist, graphic novelist, poet and graphic designer.

I am a graduate in Visual Communication Design from Srishti School of Art who has since written and illustrated an experimental graphic novel, 'Flaw', been exhibited at Galerie Mirchandani + Streinrucke in Bombay in 2011, worked fulltime with CSE as illustrator for Gobar Times- children's supplement of Down to Earth magazine, been a fellow with Sarai CSDS on their City as Studio fellowship, been published as an illustrator and graphic novelist in over 15 books with publication houses such as Harper Colins and Aleph Book Company, conducted lectures and workshops as a graphic novelist at prominent universities of the country such as Hyderabad University, recently been part of a residency in illustration at the School of Visual Arts in New York and have written more than 15 short graphic novels since, and continue to write more.

My work spans various themes from understanding the self and existentialism, to social constructs such as normalcy, power, stature, beauty, ethics, morals, relationships and love in today’s world and gender dynamics. Part of why I choose to communicate the messages I might is as a marker of my own journey based on my personal experiences for the world to understand me better, and part to communicate the same messages to a broader audience, share my voice, thoughts and journey and hope to sensitize the world more into thinking about who we are and how the world works. It hopes to contribute something new and evoke an intricate sensitivity, beauty, flow, sensuality, need for concealing and mystery we lack today with not just it’s form but encourage a new way of thinking and questioning everything we are, again, through the content I communicate.
